I am frequently asked about the name of my shop. I love folk stories and traditional tales of life and indigenous people. "Amahok" was found in an Inuit folk story. It tells the tale of two children who become lost in a snow storm, are found and protected by a white wolf.
I loved the tale and became attached to the theme of the "white wolf spirit" during the time I was showing Siberian Huskies. I found that many people associated these wonderful dogs with the wolf because of their appearance. Watching them, I realized that they did indeed share many common characteristics and behavioral traits but were polar opposites in other areas.
My jewelry designs often reflect an earlier style, more closely bound to the stones and elements. My inspiration flows from a simpler time. The book with the fairy tale has been lost over the years but I hope this explains how the name was chosen. I also hope you visit my blog frequently. Feel free to leave comments or questions and I will try to respond in a timely fashion.
